PROPERTY: Ayodhya Babri land dispute,
Supreme Court has extended the time for completion of mediation in the Ayodhya-Babri Masjid land dispute case till August 15.
CRIMINAL: SC Dismisses Sanjiv Bhatt's SLP against the dismissal of his bail application
Supreme Court has rejected special leave petition (SLP) filed by former IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt against Gujarat High Court's judgment dismissing his bail application.
CRIMINAL- SC: information contained in a document is a 'corporeal property' and it can be a subject matter of theft
Supreme Court has held that "document" as defined in Section 29 of IPC is a "moveable property" within the meaning of Section 22 of IPC and information contained therein would fall within the purview of "corporeal property" and can be the subject matter of the theft.
Corporeal property is the right of ownership in material things. It is the property that can be seen and handled. For example, real estate or personal property having a tangible form and structure, like a building, equipment or vehicle.
CIVIL- Gujarat High Court Disposes PIL on 'Religious Profiling' of Students
Gujarat High Court disposed of off PIL alleging that the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board is carrying out 'religious profiling' of Muslim candidates appearing for class X and XII examinations after being satisfied that allegations against the board were baseless and ill-founded.
